Rain falls softly through the night,
On a quiet road of golden light.
Shadows sway beneath the trees,
Whispering softly in the night breeze.
Difficulties may enter our lives,
Bringing sadness, uncertainty and strife.
Shadows may linger, then come and go,
For life brings changes as we grow.
Yet even in our darkest night,
Quiet beauty brings renewed delight.
Like rain that makes the dry land bloom,
God brings new hope where shadows loom.
Like trees that stand with roots held deep,
We need firm foundations our souls can keep.
Rooted in truth that will never depart,
Though swayed by the breeze, we stand firm at heart.
So let us keep on walking in hope,
Trusting in Jesus wherever we go.
He guides our steps and lights our way,
And leads us through each passing day.
As the road unfolds into view,
Our hearts embrace His promises anew.
With every dawn, new hope shines through,
With Christ beside us, faithful and true.
As I was reminiscing about my holiday in Shanghai, I recalled a beautiful rainy-night scene that inspired me to write this poem. The quiet road, golden lights, and swaying shadows beneath the trees reminded me of life’s journey, which, like the changing weather, brings seasons of joy and difficulty.
We may not be able to stop the rain or understand every dark season. Yet, just as rain brings life to dry land, God can use our difficult seasons to deepen our faith and draw us closer to Him. The swaying shadows in the night breeze reminded me that although life’s challenges may shake us, we can remain steadfast when our lives are deeply rooted in Christ and His unchanging truth.
Our circumstances and feelings may change, and we may not always understand the road ahead, but we can keep walking in hope, fixing our eyes on Jesus. Even in our darkest moments, He remains our unfailing hope and faithful companion. We can rest in His presence, trust in His promises, and draw strength from His grace, knowing that He is our unchanging source of strength, peace, and hope through every season of life.
