On Mother’s Day last year, in May 2025, after our pastor shared a touching poem with the congregation, I casually asked my daughter if she would write one for me. It was a simple passing remark, made without any expectation – yet to my great delight, she did. What she wrote became a precious gift to my heart. Below is the poem she wrote:
Mummy dearest,
You’re nothing short of perfect,
Beautiful inside and out,
A true depiction of what unconditional
Love is all about.
You held my hand through ups and downs,
Showering me with love and care.
I’ve never doubted for a second that
You’d always be there.
You’ve been my rock, my safe haven,
My best friend from the very start.
I’m so proud to call you my mum and
Will always love you with all of my heart.
Her poem was more than a gift – it was a tender reminder of God’s faithfulness, and of the beautiful bond He has woven between us. In her life, I see His grace at work, shaping a heart that is loving, steadfast, compassionate and anchored in Him. I thank God for the blessing of walking alongside her through every season – for her presence, for who she is, and for the joy she brings simply by being herself. My heart is full.
Words can scarcely express how thankful I am for her. Each achievement she has attained is rooted in perseverance, sacrifice, and quiet strength – strength sustained by the Lord. I have watched her labour faithfully and tirelessly, and as I reflect on God’s gracious hand upon her life, my heart overflows with gratitude. Thank you, Lord for blessing me with a daughter who is thoughtful, loving, and steadfast. While her accomplishments are admirable, it is the work God has done in her heart that moves me most. I am deeply proud of her and love her beyond words.
Above all, I give glory to God for His favour, guidance, and grace upon her life. Achievements may shine, but it is the Lord who establishes every step and makes all things possible. May she continue to walk in His light, rest securely in His love, and flourish in His divine purposes. To God be all the glory. And to my precious daughter – Mummy’s sweetpea – my heart rejoices because of you. Love you endlessly, girl… ♡
A Prayer for My Daughter
Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of my daughter – for Your faithfulness in her life, the grace that sustains her, and the love You have placed in her heart. May she walk in the fullness of every spiritual blessing You have promised (Ephesians 1:3), rooted in Your love, honouring You in all her ways, steadfast in faith, and growing ever closer to You.
Guide her steps, guard her heart, and shape her character in the likeness of Christ. Carry her through every storm with Your mercy and comfort, and let her life shine as a testimony of Your goodness (Matthew 5:16), bearing fruit that glorifies Your name(John 15:8). Surround her with peace, fill her days with joy, and lead her by Your Spirit in every season. May she walk in the purposes You have prepared for her (Jeremiah 29:11), radiating the fruit of the Spirit, and prospering in all she does (Psalm 1:3), living fully in the abundance of your love.
Thank You Lord for every blessing, every victory, and every moment of her life. To You be all the glory, now and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
