Love is a mystery… a paradox
A fire of passion, hope and light
Illuminating lives…
Similar to a candlelight
But sadly, when love fades
Wounds unhealed and pain remains
Like a candle losing its flame
Darkness prevails and sorrow reigns
No words can express the depth of loss
No tears can wash away my pain
No laughter can restore my joy
No stars can light my path again
Merely existing… no longer living
Wandering into the unknown
Back to where I first began
Without you… all alone
This poem was born out of deep despair, written in a time when I was engulfed in hopelessness. The agony was unbearable – so much so that death seemed more inviting than the thought of carrying on. In my affliction, I cried out to God, the only One I could cling to.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:17-18 NIV)
And He heard my cry, restored my life, and filled the emptiness within me with His boundless, unconditional love. What I once thought was lost, He renewed (Joel 2:25). What was broken, He mended (Psalm 147:3). His love now overflows in me – so full that it reaches out to others (Romans 5:5). What an awesome God we serve!
We can be certain that even when we are physically alone, we are never truly alone, for Jesus is always with us. Therefore, no matter what we face or whatever life may throw our way, we only need to cry out to God and trust that He will make our paths straight. We are not without hope – OUR HOPE IS IN CHRIST JESUS, our Lord and Saviour.
As I write this, my heart overflows with gratitude, for I am so incredibly blessed to be loved by the Lord of lords and King of kings. Thank you, Abba Father – I love You!
